Safe, dignified and professionally managed solutions
The need for temporary housing for refugees places high demands on quality, flexibility, and operational reliability. At Monoma, we support municipalities and property owners in transforming vacant buildings into safe and functional housing – with respect to people, properties and the surrounding community. We already have extensive experience with refugee accommodation in several European countries, where we are currently responsible for the establishment and operation of municipal reception and accommodation facilities. We now bring this knowledge and these solutions to Denmark.
From vacant building to safe accommodation
Vacant properties do not have to stand unused. Through temporary use, they can become part of the solution to an acute housing need – while preserving the property’s value, safety and technical condition.
Monoma transforms existing buildings, such as offices, institutions or commercial properties, into temporary housing. The solution can be adapted to the specific property, target group and the period during which the building is available.
Our objective is clear: to create clean, safe and dignified housing conditions, where residents feel welcome and where municipalities and property owners can have full confidence in the operation.
Integrated management – one single partner
Monoma delivers more than just temporary accommodation. We take full responsibility for daily operations and administration, providing genuine relief for both municipalities and property owners.
All solutions are tailored to the individual location and its residents – because no two sites are the same.
Our solution can include, among other things:
Facility and technical management
Ongoing inspections, maintenance and safeguarding of installations, ensuring the building remains in good condition.

Security and monitoring:
Creating calm and safety for residents, the property and the surrounding area.
Social and onsite management:
Visible teams on location who support a safe and wellfunctioning daily life for residents.

Experience from other countries – ready for Denmark
In the Netherlands, Monoma already works with several municipalities to operate refugee and reception facilities. Here, we have built solid experience with the practical, social and organizational aspects that characterize this type of housing solution.
Experience shows that flexibility, local presence and professional management are crucial to creating stable and sustainable accommodation – even when frameworks and needs change over time.
A flexible solution – with an eye on the future
Temporary housing for refugees can be part of a longterm strategy. Several of the solutions Monoma has established in other countries can later be used for other target groups when needs change.
In this way, a solution is created that is both socially responsible and futureproof – without locking the property into a single use.
