The resident community of Anglet (FR)
)
An office building and two Basque properties for 21 temporary residents
The owner had asked us to secure his vacant property in the Ile-de-France region. After occupying and restoring several sites, we extended our collaboration to the south-west of France.
The Anglet site had been the target of several intrusions. Occupying it while waiting for it to be put up for sale became a matter of urgency.
Little work was carried out to make the site habitable. We adapted to what already existed, and shared the costs in the interests of profitability. We're not in the business of building new homes, but we do want our residents to feel at home and comfortable.

Monoma has always returned our properties to us in good condition. Occupying them makes them easier to sell, and the sites are very well maintained. In the end, it costs us just as much as an alarm.
Our objective
Ensure occupancy until transfer of ownership
To give a second life to the buildings by creating an occupation for accommodation purposes
Enhance the value of the site and maintain it so that it can be put up for sale
Find an appropriate occupation to meet local, social and environmental challenges
Create a social mix through a living community, a place where people can meet, exchange ideas and share experiences
Some profiles and feedback
Yannick : 28 years old - Freelance in video and photography
A friend who lives on the site put me in touch with MONOMA and I was quickly able to get a room. Living in a shared flat is a great experience, the price, the location and the community aspect won me over."
Annick: 41 years old - Events manager at a château
"I was in the middle of a separation and couldn't find any accommodation. There aren't many vacancies in the Basque Country and yet there's a lot of demand. Despite my comfortable professional situation, I couldn't find anything.MONOMA was a real springboard for me. Being separated, being able to live in a community has helped me in my personal reconstruction. It's a fabulous opportunity to meet people from all walks of life, where everyone is an adult, active and responsible. This scheme should be made compulsory for owners of vacant properties."
Noémie: 29 years old - Hospital Services Officer
"It's an excellent springboard while I'm looking for something else. Being on my own makes it harder to find a flat in the conditions that landlords ask for. This solution saved me.
I'm lucky because I live right next to my work, I cycle to work, I've made friends and I feel very comfortable here."
